Shakira and Rihanna's "Can't Remember to Forget You" Already a Smash its First Day

I was excited when I first heard that Shakira and Rihanna were working on a song together.  These two talented ladies come from completely different worlds of music, and the idea of what they would do together surely whet my anticipation.  Now that I've heard it, my excitement's been validated.

This pairing is as surprisingly unique as Pitbull's work with Ke$ha on Timber, and may just hit it as big, if not bigger.  Can't Remember to Forget You is the debut single from Shakira's forthcoming new album (due in March) and it's already in the top 20 on Billboard's Pop and Latin charts its first day.

The song has Shakira all over it, with fast moving and snappy beats and equally rapid fire lyrics.  The song's even got a slight ska sound to it.  The ladies take turns on the verses, with the Colombian superstar taking the first one and leaving the listener to wonder how RiRi would handle her part.  It works!

Check it out on YouTube.
